Google login, scheduled sending, message templates and automatic volume pricing are live in the console today. Here is what each one does and how to use it.
Two weeks ago we posted our roadmap on Facebook. Four of the six items on it shipped today. Nothing about how sending works has changed: same short code, same per-number delivery report, same refund on rejected numbers.
The login page now has a Continue with Google button. If you already have a HantarSMS account under the same Gmail address, it links to that account automatically; nothing to migrate and your balance stays where it is. New customers can register in one click without setting a password.
We only accept Google accounts with a verified email address, and the Google account is the only thing that can open an account created this way. There is no password to guess.
Below the recipient list there is a new Schedule field. Leave it empty and the campaign goes out immediately, exactly as before. Pick a date and time (Malaysia time) and the campaign is held and sent within five minutes of that time.
API customers get the same thing with a send_at parameter on POST /api/v1/messages. See the API docs.
If you send the same order-ready notice or the same monthly promotion, you no longer have to paste it in every time. There is a new Templates tab where you can save up to 50 messages, and a Use a template dropdown above the message box on the send page. Save as template next to it stores whatever you have just written.
Templates are only text. When you send, the message still goes through the same checks as a typed one: character count, encoding, and the international brand keyword warning.
Your price per segment now drops on its own as you send more. It is based on the number of messages successfully submitted from your account since you joined; failed and refunded numbers do not count towards it.
| Messages sent to date | Price per segment |
|---|---|
| Under 5,000 | RM0.20 |
| 5,000 and above | RM0.18 |
| 20,000 and above | RM0.15 |
The console shows your running total and how many more messages until the next tier, right under the cost estimate on the send page. The new rate applies to every campaign you create after crossing the line; campaigns already sent keep the price they were quoted at.
If you have a negotiated rate with us, it stays exactly as agreed. Negotiated rates are fixed and are not touched by the tiers.
From the same Facebook post: SMS routes for more countries, AI help with writing the message, and webhooks so your own system can react to delivery results without polling. Those are next. If there is something you want ahead of them, tell us on WhatsApp.
